Acting Career

Daniel’s acting journey began in 2014 when a friend encouraged him to appear in a music video for Sidney York. Inspired by the experience, he decided to formally train in acting and enrolled in the Victoria Academy of Dramatic Arts, where he studied film and theater performance.

After two years of auditioning, he landed his first film role in Bloody Blacksmith (2016). From 2017 to 2018, he appeared in several short films before getting a breakthrough in 2018. That year, he secured a recurring role in Facebook Watch’s series Sacred Lies, which ran for four seasons. This opportunity propelled his career, leading to roles in Emma Fielding: More Bitter Than Death and Family Pictures.

In 2018, Daniel also appeared in Amazon Prime’s historical drama The Man in the High Castle. However, it was in 2020 that he gained widespread recognition for his role in The Half of It. The Netflix film, directed by Alice Wu, follows a shy, intelligent Asian-American student who helps a socially awkward football player (played by Daniel) write love letters to the girl they both secretly admire.
