Trevion Williams

Probably one of the best and fiercest college basketball players at the moment, Trevion Williams plays for the Purdue Boilermakers of the Big Ten Conference. He was also a part of the FIBA Under-19 World Cup, representing the United States, and won a gold medal.

Early Life

Trevion Williams was born on September 16, 2000, in Chicago, Illinois, to his father, Theodore Williams, and mother, Shawndra Lewis. He learned to play basketball from his father, who took him to pick-up games at city parks, sparking his interest in the sport.

During his childhood, his parents separated, and Trevion began living with his mother. He grew up in Chicago until a tragic incident changed his life—his uncle, Tyjuan Lewis, was shot and killed in front of their house when Trevion was 15. This traumatic event led his family to move to Detroit, Michigan, for a fresh start.

Growing up in Chicago, Trevion attended Mount Carmel High School, which has produced notable athletes like Donovan McNabb, Simeon Rice, and Antoine Walker. After his uncle’s tragic death, he transferred to the Henry Ford Academy School for Creative Studies in Detroit. Basketball Career

Trevion Williams began his basketball journey in high school. As a freshman, he led his team in Chicago to an impressive 26-0 record. After transferring to Henry Ford Academy, he made a significant impact, averaging 22 points and 25 rebounds per game as a junior. Unfortunately, a foot injury limited his games, but despite his recovery period, he still played for The Family at the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League.

During his senior year, Trevion averaged 20 points and 21 rebounds per game, leading his team to a district title. His stellar performance made him a finalist for the Mr. Basketball of Michigan award and earned him First Team All-State honors. In 2017, he committed to Purdue University.

Initially, Trevion faced limited playing time in his freshman year due to weight gain, but he worked hard to lose nearly 23 kg (50 lbs). His dedication paid off, and in January 2020, he recorded a career-best 36 points and 20 rebounds in an 84–78 double-overtime loss to Michigan. He became the first Purdue player since 1971 to achieve at least 35 points and 20 rebounds in a single game. As a sophomore, he played 31 games, averaging 7.6 rebounds per game.

Williams also represented the United States at the FIBA Under-19 World Cup in Greece, where the team won a gold medal. With his exceptional skills and determination, he is expected to be one of the top prospects for the NBA in the coming years.

Personal Life

Trevion Williams prefers to keep his personal life private, especially regarding relationships. It appears that he is focused on building his basketball career rather than being involved in any romantic relationships at the moment.

The 20-year-old player has an official, verified Instagram account under the username @.sensational., where he has over 16.6k followers. He is active on social media, often sharing game highlights and expressing his love for his mother through heartfelt posts. However, he does not appear to be highly active on other social media platforms.

However, his estimated earnings as of 2021 are around $100,000, primarily coming from his status as one of the top players in college basketball.
