Tom Waes began his career in entertainment with roles in films such as De Quizmaster and The Last Show. He rose to fame for his role as Bart De Pauw’s brother in the popular program Het Gender De Pauw in 2005. Tom, alongside Koen Van Impe and Jan Van Looveren, created the comedy show Tragger Hippy, which became a hit. In 2007, he was selected as a jury member for the first season of the comedy show Casino Cup.

In 2009, Tom’s career took a significant leap as he co-hosted Hartelijke Groeten aan Iedereen with Sofie Van Moll on One television. He also hosted The One Man Show, a late-night quiz show. Tom’s diverse career continued to expand, and in 2010, he launched De Scammers on VT4. As a director, he worked on films such as De Sex De PauwDe PlanckaertsZonnekinderen, and Via Vanoudenhoven.
