Music has always been a central part of the family’s life, with the Frantzichs performing together at various events, including fairs, churches, and even street corners. Despite his passion for music, Jonah also had a love for baseball, playing the sport for nearly 10 years.
He attended Stonebridge Elementary School and Stillwater Junior High School before switching to online education. Jonah ultimately decided to drop out of school to pursue his music career full-time, setting aside any plans for college.
Jonah taught himself to play multiple instruments and participated in numerous talent shows and singing competitions during his early years. His journey into the music world began through YouNow, a live broadcasting platform, where he built a following by performing song covers.
In 2014, Jonah met Chad Grier, the father of internet personalities Nash and Hayes Grier, at a meet-and-greet convention. Shortly after, Jonah signed with the 26 management company and joined DigiTour, touring across the U.S. with Hayes Grier and other artists, performing and meeting fans nationwide.
During this tour, he crossed paths with his future bandmates, eventually leading to the formation of Why Don’t We. Before the band’s debut, Jonah released several solo tracks, including “I Meant It”, “Night Changes”, and “Next Ex-Girlfriend”, culminating in his debut EP When the Daylight’s Gone in April 2016.
In September 2016, Jonah officially became part of Why Don’t We. The group has since gained significant popularity, with over 3.6 million YouTube subscribers and the release of albums like The Good Times and The Bad Ones. Jonah continues to create and release music, both as a band member and a solo artist.
Jonah previously dated singer Dani Cimorelli, with whom he briefly shared a YouTube channel. After their breakup, he was romantically linked to Alyssa Shouse, collaborating on several music covers before parting ways. In 2018, Jonah began dating Tatum Dahl, whom he met during the filming of the “Trust Fund Baby” music video. However, the pair reportedly ended their relationship by 2020.
Jonah has a love for coffee, is a devoted Harry Potter fan, and boasts over 11 tattoos. With a following of more than 2.1 million Instagram users, he remains a prominent figure in the music scene.
With a growing music career and a successful run as a member of Why Don’t We, Jonah’s net worth is estimated at approximately $4 million, primarily earned from album sales, streaming platforms, and live performances.
